On Friday November 20, Wes alum Manon Lefevre will be sharing her GIS story. She graduated from Wesleyan a couple of years ago and has since used her GIS skills in Madagascar, at UConn CLEAR, and at the Nature Conservancy. All are welcome to come. 2:40-4:00 pm in PAC 100.

Here’s an interesting example of GIS, crowdsourcing, and public participation. The USGS is looking for volunteers to compare pre- and post-storm photos of the East Coast for Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Joaquin. It takes 2-3 minutes per photo and does a good deed for US coastal science. http://coastal.er.usgs.gov/icoast/index.php
