NEGEO GIS Technician and Technical Positions
New England Geosystems is currently looking to fill multiple full-time positions based out of our new Branford, CT office.
We are a small team providing a multitude of GIS consulting services to municipalities, regional entities, and private companies within New England and New York since 2005.
GIS Technicians (Mid/Senior-Level)
Duties & Responsibilities
Primary duties & responsibilities will include development and maintenance of public utility, cadastral, zoning, easement, planimetric and other essential municipal GIS datasets. Occasional field data collection opportunities using Esri’s field apps (Field Maps / Survey 123) may be available.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate(s) will have at least 3 years of experience working with municipal GIS datasets, with an above average attention to detail, possess cartographic awareness, and has ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients.
Candidates need to have working experience using the Esri suite of products, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap and ArcGIS Online. Additional skills such as MS Office with a familiarity of MS Access a plus.
GIS Technical Coordinator
Duties & Responsibilities
Applicants for this position should possess strong data management skills, both tabular and spatial, gained through a combination of education and work experience. Duties will include working with senior staff to implement, maintain, enhance and troubleshoot client and in-house databases and applications.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate(s) will have at least 6 years of experience working with technology areas listed below, be a highly motivated self-starter with a desire to learn and create new products and opportunities. We are looking for those with an above average attention to detail, possess cartographic awareness, and have the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients.
Knowledge Areas:
- Microsoft SQL Server administration and scripting (T-SQL)
- Microsoft IIS, Windows Server and AWS or Azure experience
- ArcGIS Server / ArcGIS Online – management and development
- Esri’s ArcMap desktop and ArcGIS Pro applications
- Esri’s collection of Field Operations apps – management and development
- Trimble’s Unity water management platform
- HTML, JavaScript, python and exposure to related frameworks
- ESRI JavaScript API – 3.x & 4.x
- Geocortex Essentials, Workflow Designer
- .NET framework (ASP/VB/C#)
Administrative
Positions are full time office-based positions based out of our Branford, CT office. All positions require completion of at least a four-year degree in a related field and related professional work experience.
Since the way business is conducted these days has evolved, options have been made available for staff to work remotely at differing levels. A familiarization of clients, projects and workflows is the first goal of any new employee and initially this goal is best met in-person. Once a working relationship has been established, these options can be examined.
