Resource Management/Conservation Student GIS Opportunity in Mariposa, CA

The Mariposa (near Yosemite National Park, CA) office of the Sierra Nevada Conservancy (State of California, Resources Agency) is hiring a Student GIS Assistant. They are actively seeking qualified students who have basic GIS skills and a strong interest in learning and acquiring hands-on resource management/conservation experience  in the Sierra Nevada.

The position is part time, up to 20 hours a week. Pay is $10-$18/hour depending upon degree level. Open to Undergraduate and Graduate Students. Housing is not provided.

Students will assist with and learn to execute GIS tasks using ArcGIS software including but not limited to map editing; map production; spatial analysis; ArcGIS Online map and application development. Collect new GIS layers as appropriate for analyses & update the GIS data catalog when layers are acquired.
