Description
The Spatial Analyst provides geospatial data management, collection, and analysis support to conservation initiatives throughout the Caribbean Division. This includes regularly updating ecological and socioeconomic datasets, facilitating data-sharing and dissemination, synthesizing monitoring and evaluation data on conservation successes, providing analysis and cartography support to conservation projects, and creating and maintaining web maps, tools, and sites.

The Spatial Analyst is responsible for managing data and tools for the Caribbean Division of The Nature Conservancy. They maintain metadata, organize file names, maintain data agreements and disclaimers, manage GIS licenses, design Excel spreadsheets, and perform GIS analyses as related to conservation initiatives and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) efforts. They design and perform complex queries and data analyses, write professional and technical reports, and process spatial and other relational data sets derived from cartographic and tabular source material. They will maintain key ecological, socioeconomic, political, and modelled datasets for the region and update them regularly based on stakeholder feedback and/or updated data sources. They will help build GIS capacity with our staff and partners through targeted trainings. They will create and maintain our suite of online tools including StoryMaps, ArcGIS Online resources, and Google Earth Engine apps. The Spatial Analyst will join the Caribbean Science Team in providing sound science and useful decision support tools to conservation initiatives throughout the region to partners and across the Conservancy.
