he NSF I/UCRC Spatiotemporal Innovation Center is recruiting two RET (Research Experience for Teachers) and one or two REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) fellows for around six to seven weeks from June 2019 to August 2019. The NSF I/UCRC Spatiotemporal Innovation Center aims to address the intelligent spatiotemporal computing challenges in the 21st century as well as the data collection, intelligent integration, knowledge construction, and geovisualization. Integrating the spatiotemporal characteristics of natural phenomena, social events, and the environment, we aim to enhance the computing strategy and technology with these characteristics for higher efficiency and effectiveness. Several ongoing projects can be found on the center website: www.stcenter.net.
A complete application includes: 1) a C.V., 2) one-page double-spaced statement of interest, 3) contact information (email and phone #) of two referees.
Selection process: There will be three steps for selecting the students: 1) Site directors will collaboratively select a pool of promising applicants. 2) Faculty members will select the relevant applicants who match their interest. 3) A phone interview will be arranged with the selected candidates to consider the applicant’s background and skills in communication, teamwork, and topic interest.
