Internship Opportunities for Students at U.S. Census Bureau

The Population Division of the U.S. Census Bureau has paid internship opportunities for students in geography and related fields.

This posting opens Friday, December 9, and will only remain open until 50 applications have been received.

We are looking for well-qualified people with training in geographic information systems, population geography or demography, and urban geography, among other specialties.  Interns will work on projects related to international and domestic population mapping.

Salaries reflect the level of education completed.  All positions require U.S. citizenship.

Paid internships are available both during the academic year and in the summer.  Part-time work is possible during the academic year.  Census HQ is in the Washington, DC, area and is located next to a subway station.

This is an exciting time for the U.S. Census Bureau, and specifically the Population Division.  Please forward this email to students (or colleagues with students) who may be interested in working at the Census Bureau.  For more information about the agency, including position opportunities, look under “About Us” on our website at Census.gov.
